Step 1: Get Started

Login into Magento Admin Panel and from sidebar go to, Store > Settings > Configuration

Step 2: Configure Cart Thumbnails

Now from sidebar go to, Sales > Checkout

Now expand Shopping Cart

Configure the cart thumbnail settings:

Set Grouped Product Image to one of the following:
Product Thumbnail Itself
Parent Product Thumbnail

Set Configurable Product Image to one of the following:
Product Thumbnail Itself
Parent Product Thumbnail

Now click on Save Config button.
