It’s good sense to take back up the data of your website regularly for long-term stability of the e-commerce store. So that you can restore the database in case of a crash or failure of your website. In this tutorial I will guide you, How to create and restore the database in PrestaShop.
1. Create PrestaShop Database Backup using DB Back-up tool in PrestaShop Back-Office
Go to Back-Office: Advanced Parameters > Database > DB Backup (tab)
Click the “I have read the disclaimer button to create new database back-up.
Now click on “Download the backup file” button.
Scroll down and you will see all the created database backup list. You can view or delete those backup files.
2. Restore PrestaShop Database using phpmyadmin
Once you have database backup files, you can restore database of your site. Follow the below steps:
Enable maintenance mode for your store. ( Preferences > Maintenance, disable the “Enable Shop” option. )
Connect to “phpMyAdmin” and select your current database.
At the top of the screen, select the “Import” tab
Click on the “Browse” button in opened window and select the backup file for your database from your local drive
Once your file uploads successfully, then click the “Go” button at the bottom of the window. You’ve successfully restored your database.
